Director of Business Development

The Director of Business Development will define and execute BenchPrep's business development strategy with the singular purpose of increasing user acquisition and revenue. He/She will identify opportunities and develop partnerships with test prep companies, student organizations, other ed-tech companies, colleges and universities to drive revenue and distribution. He/She will confer with executive team, staff members, and outside partners, to set strategy, identify and prioritize prospects, and pitch, negotiate and close partnerships to drive usage of the BenchPrep platform.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning and development of all business development efforts
  • Identify, pitch and close critical business development relationships. Clearly communicate BenchPrep's value proposition externally to Partners.
  • Prioritize and assess opportunities across various channels and segments
  • Responsible for full Partnership lifecycle including acquisition, implementation and management of Partner relationships.
  • Develop and communicate the various opportunities in business cases and economic potential.
  • Create and execute on Partnership implementation plans across both internal and external parties.

Requires experience with:

  • Passion for education
  • 2+ years experience of relevant experience in business development.
  • Proven success in fast-paced, startup-like environments
  • Strong track record of executing with limited resources and direction
  • Experience developing contract terms unique to each situation/customer
  • Ability to work independently and to represent the company externally
  • Strong quantitative ability; Ruthless about measuring effectiveness and results

Content Manager

We're looking for a content manager to manage our entire content portfolio and help us bring compelling educational content to our platform. The content manager will be responsible for ensuring the quality of content that passes through our process and for ensuring that we respect the pedagogical integrity of the content we work with.

We're working with our publisher partners to bring their content to the platform in the following subject areas:

  • Standardized Tests
  • Physical Sciences
  • Mathematics and Statistics
  • Professional Certifications

Responsibilities:

  • Manage editorial changes and content QA for all courses
  • Analyze content assets for each course and manage course design
  • Work with our publishing partners as a liaison for content updates and content management

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of experience as an editor at a publishing house
  • Bachelor's degree in one of the aforementioned subject areas
  • Very strong attention to detail
  • Experience teaching in either K-12 or higher education a plus
  • Experience with learning management systems a plus

Inside Sales Associate

YOU'RE looking for an opportunity to be a part of a team that can grow as fast as you can. WE'RE looking for someone who wants to take credit for building a multi-million dollar business.

As part of our inside sales team, you will be researching potential partners in our secondary-education segment and building a pipeline in your targeted market. You'll make outbound calls to prospective BenchPrep partners daily, and manage various inbound e-mail campaigns and marketing initiatives. You'll help design effective sales strategies, create proposals, and work with school administrators to find solutions that fit in their schools and districts.

  • Form relationships, regularly close deals, and engage existing partners
